Downtown Wonder
There are many quality hotels in Portland. I would suggest one downtown. The Pioneer mall downtown is very upscale and unique. There are also many shops in the area. After visiting these stores, I would grab a snack at Voodoo Doughnuts a few blocks away. Transportation is simple downtown, with the free light-rail train section. For dinner I would recommend the restaurant on the top story of the US Bank building. The Saturday Market is a simply amazing. There are so many shops and stands, as well as music and other performances. Many hours can be spent there. I would also recommend visiting the Hawthorne district. Shop at the thrift stores and specialty shops, grab a bite to eat at the Afghan food joint, and finally watch a film at the Baghdad Theatre. Portland is trendy, beautiful, and unique.
